Frequently asked questions (SiC2024 FAQ)

Q: I have received the automatically sent invoice via e-mail, but I need a specific invoice for payment of the registration fee through my institution. How can I get this?

A: Contact us at sic@hkd.hr with all the information regarding the invoice you need (Institution, address, VAT no. / OIB, address, …).

Q: What are the guidelines for posters and presentations? Where can I find the SiC2024 logo for my poster / presentation?

Please find the lecture timings and poster dimensions here.

The poster stands and adhesive tapes will be available at the venue. We suggest printing on paper. These dimensions are maximum height and width (up to A0), the posters can be smaller, however please print in at least A2 format for best visibility.

Prepare your presentations in .pptx or. pdf format, preferably 4:3.

Q: How can I apply for the Tomislav Cvitaš Award for the best poster presentation? What is the award comprised of?

A: All participants taking part in the poster session are automatically participating and we kindly ask all presenting authors to prepare a short 10-minute oral presentation of their poster, as the award winner will be able to present her/his work on Friday, 15 Nov in the morning session. The winner will be announced on our website and will be contacted via e-mail, and invited to the Gala Dinner, where the ceremony will take place.

The winner is awarded with an Award certificate, plaque, and free participation in Solutions in Chemistry 2026.

Q: I see that SiC2024 participants are offered accommodation at Hotel/Apartments Terme Sveti Martin at a discounted price. Where can I find the link to book my stay? What are the details on cancellation policy?

A: The booking link is sent in the confirmation e-mail upon registration (see image below). You can find all the details at the provided link (issued by Hotel Terme Sveti Martin).

Q: Is lunch/dinner organised and/or included in the registration fee? What about the Gala dinner?

A: Lunch and dinner are unfortunately not covered by the registration fee, with the exception of Gala Dinner (14 Nov) which is included for all participants in the Regular category. However, as a conference participant, you are able to enjoy the amazing Buffet lunch and dinner at Hotel Terme Sveti Martin**** at the price of 18 € (current pricing, subject to change). Participants staying in Apartments Terme Sveti Martin*** have the buffet breakfast and dinner included (in the apartments’ restaurant, more information on the booking link provided in the email received upon registration here), whereas for the participants staying in Hotel Terme Sveti Martin**** are able to enjoy the buffet breakfast in their B&B fee. Please leave a note to the Hotel staff when booking your accommodation, or mark your preference as soon as you arrive to the Hotel.

Gala dinner is NOT INCLUDED in the PhD/MSc/BSc fees, however you can join us at this amazing event for an additional cost of 35 €. Please leave a note to the Hotel staff when booking your accommodation, or mark your preference as soon as you arrive to the Hotel – you will be able to pay for the Gala dinner ticket at the Hotel reception.

Q: I would like to enjoy my free time in Terme Sveti Martin locations. What are my options?
